Call for Contributions: Special Session on City-Regional Futures

As part of the RSA Regional Futures conference (Dublin, 12–14 November 2025), this Special Session invites contributions exploring the future of city-regions. The session aims to foster dialogue on transformation, governance, and development pathways of city-regions from diverse disciplinary and regional perspectives.

Planned publication output:
Selected papers will be considered for inclusion in planned special issues of leading journals such as Regional Studies, Territory, Politics, Governance, and Area Development and Policy.

Submission process – two steps:

Step 1:
Submit an abstract and presentation title (maximum 250 words) via email to:
anna.growe@uni-kassel.de and eva.purkarthofer@aalto.fi
Deadline: 14 July 2025
Notification: Authors will be informed of acceptance by 20 July 2025. Only confirmed contributions will be included in the Special Session programme. Authors whose abstracts are not selected are encouraged to submit to the general conference programme.

Step 2:
Register for the conference and submit the abstract and presentation title via the official RSA submission portal:
