International Working Group "Urban Planning for Health Equity" in Katowice
The meeting of the working group is a very important element in the building of the Science City, as it promotes interdisciplinary cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of urban planning for health equity, emphasises Katarzyna BrukaĆo, PhD, from the Department of Public Health in Bytom SUM, a member of the ARL Working Group.
The programme of the meeting includes both scientific deliberations and study visits, which allow direct exposure to examples of successful urban transformation in the region.
Hosting the event in Katowice, a city that has undergone significant economic and developmental transformation, highlights the importance of local achievements in an international context and promotes the city as a centre for innovation and scientific cooperation.
During the two-day (5-6 September 2024) proceedings, the group will visit the historic GUIDO mine, Nikiszowiec and the Medical Simulation Centre in Zabrze.
