Kick-off-meeting of the alpine spatial planning “AlpPlan” network
Rethinking trans-national cooperation and the role of open spaces in spatial planning
On 29th October 2020, 69 representatives from spatial planning practice and research in different alpine countries participated in an online meeting, which was supposed to mark the kick-off of the “AlpPlan” alpine spatial planning network. Several keynote speeches and thematic inputs from the OpenSpaceAlps project, national/ federal state public authorities as well as Alpine Convention and EUSALP working groups highlighted the need for increased transnational cooperation in the field of spatial planning, considering that such a network must work in close cooperation with existing alpine cooperation platforms.
