Facilitating Cross-Border Solutions
New EU Regulation on Cross-Border Obstacles – But is it enough?
Over 150 million citizens live in EU border regions — yet legal and administrative barriers continue to hinder cross-border cooperation.
To address this, the EU has introduced the BRIDGEforEU regulation, designed to facilitate the resolution of such obstacles. But how effective can this new tool truly be?
The ad-hoc ARL Working Group has published a position paper critically examining the scope, challenges, and implementation requirements of the regulation.
The paper serves three key purposes:
- To assess the regulation’s scope and ambition.
- To identify potential implementation challenges.
- To propose conditions for its successful and practical application.
