OUT NOW: The Country Profile of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The time period after 1991 is the fifth stage of the development of the spatial planning system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, characterised by post-socialist planning. This stage is still ongoing. The spatial planning system has been affected by tectonic socio-economic changes: the break-up of Yugoslavia and the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Dayton Peace Accords and the new Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the transition from socialism (system of workers’ self-management) to free market capitalism and the denationalisation of urban building land.
