The 7th Dortmund Conference for Spatial and Planning Research (DOKORP 2025) will take place from 10 to 12 February 2025 in German and English.
“Planning in times of multiple crises”
In western spatial planning practice, relatively stable basic assumptions are often implicitly assumed: Urban development is predictable, property is robust, institutions are stable, the financial system works and geopolitical and environmental influences remain largely stable. However, the current crises - climate, energy, housing - are shaking the foundations of such an assumption of stability. What does this mean for planning? Most areas are dedicated, their plannability is fixed - but are the purposes still the right ones? What are the reasons for planning in times of multiple crises?
Topics: DOKORP 2025 comprises several thematic tracks. You can submit a paper or these until 07/10/2024. You can also submit proposals for a spatial and planning science roundtable initiated by you.

The Dortmund Conference on Spatial and Planning Research is hosted by the Department of Spatial Planning at the TU Dortmund University and organised by the Chairs of Urban Development, Land-Use Planning and Urban Design Processes and Land Policy, Land Management and Municipal Geoinformation. The conference is being organised in cooperation with the Academy for Spatial Development in the Leibniz Association (ARL), the Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research (ILS) and the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR).
