LAND4FLOOD Conference 2023 “Land for flood risk management and resilience”

The call for abstracts for the LAND4FLOOD Conference 2023 “Land for flood risk management and resilience”, to be held 27-29 September 2023, in Dortmund, Germany is now open.

Partners from the scientific community , as well as policy makers, water managers, spatial planners, lawyers, and other stakeholders involved in spatial flood risk management are invited to submit an abstract for oral presentations at the conference. For practitioners  in flood risk management a special round table will be organised.  Young academics are especially welcome and are strongly encouraged to participate! PhD students are invited also apply for a special PhD-workshop that is organized during the conference.

Themes to be covered at the conference include 

  1. the hydrological effectiveness of nature-based measures for flood retention, 
  2. conflicts between land uses when implementing nature-based measures, 
  3. regulatory aspects of nature-based solution implementation and, 
  4. financial considerations

Please note that abstracts (300 words) have to be written in English and should be submitted electronically via submission platform, available at the conference website. All abstracts will be reviewed by reviewers from our Scientific Committee prior to acceptance.

The deadline to submit an abstract is 16 April 2023. Selected authors will be notified by 27 May and invited to register for the conference. Attendee registration will open from June onwards. A modest conference fee will be asked for registration to cover the expenses of the conference.
